A SOCKITS' TALE

The shuttered socket was designed in 1928. Nearly a century later, the industry's greatest innovation has been... a shinier finish. Meanwhile, installers are still twisting themselves into human pretzels just to fit it.

Life has changed out of all recognition. Yet for the humble socket, time has stood still.

Progress has come in baby steps, at the speed of a sleepy sloth. And what little innovation there has been has focused almost everywhere except where installers actually spend their time: at the wall. Every electrician has a preferred brand, the truth is they all work much the same way.

Sockits began with a simple observation from real installers on real jobs: the frustrating part of fitting a socket isn’t the fitting - it’s the wiring.

The guessing game behind the faceplate. The cables that barely reach. The terminal you can’t quite see. The scraped knuckles and twisted backs, and the wasted time undoing and redoing something that should be really simple.

So, we asked an obvious question, one the market had somehow overlooked for far too long:

Why are we still doing it like this?

That question is where Sockits began. By rethinking the socket from the inside out - not by adding bells and whistles, but by stripping the problem back to its core - we arrived at something fundamentally different: the first socket designed around a genuine two-part connection.

The terminal separates from the body, so you can wire with a clear view and proper access. The result is faster, safer and smarter. In the real world, it’s up to ten times faster - because visibility and access change everything.

But the breakthrough doesn't stop at speed.

Separating the terminal from the body creates something the industry hasn’t had before: a socket that’s modular, upgradable and replaceable by design. Built with the same circular thinking that’s shaping the industry’s future: repairable components, reduced waste and significantly longer product life. Every Sockits terminal is engineered to last at least 25 years and to be reused across multiple styles and generations.

We’re building a brand around respect for craft. Respect for time, for skill and for the realities of the job. That’s why our products are deliberately simple to understand and straightforward to fit. We don’t hide behind complexity. We don’t design features installers don’t need. We focus on the details that actually matter: visibility, safety, speed and ease.

It’s a simple idea, but it changes everything. Both the concept and the technology are patent-pending, and the sockets on these pages are the first of a wider range of Sockits products launching in the coming months.

Designed in Britain by a British company, for the British market, Sockits is here to bring sockets up to the standard the industry deserves. Not by reinventing what a socket is, but by rethinking how a socket works.

So a socket isn’t just a socket anymore.

It’s a Sockit.

And it’s actually quite clever.
